As a little girl, I dreamed big.

Lenka

I am Lenka Krivá, a fashion designer with a passion for clean lines, thoughtful details, and precise craftsmanship.

I am a detail-oriented perfectionist with a mathematical mind. From an early age, I was drawn to exact calculations, systems, and order, while at the same time feeling a strong pull toward manual work and creation. This very connection between logic and creativity naturally led me to fashion design — to problem-solving, shaping forms, and transforming ideas into wearable pieces.

Perseverance, responsibility, and humanity form the foundation of my work. I feel a deep responsibility toward my family, business partners, clients, and society as a whole. I do what has meaning for me. And I believe that beauty, honest craftsmanship, and a refined sense for detail have the power to cultivate the world around us.

Education

I studied Fashion Design at the School of Applied Arts in Trenčín (formerly the Secondary School of Clothing Design) and later Textile Design at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava.

My secondary education provided me with exceptionally strong foundations. I was fortunate to learn from precise and demanding teachers who emphasized pattern construction based on individual proportions, creative transformation of basic patterns into garment silhouettes, and thorough mastery of garment technology. In addition to sewing essential garment types, we focused on detailed samples of tailoring techniques and refined craftsmanship.

University studies allowed me to expand this knowledge through practical exploration of a wide range of textile techniques. I worked with bobbin lace, loom weaving, various weaving and knitting methods, felting, textile dyeing, and traditional screen printing. This period gave me a deep understanding of materials — their behavior, structure, and possibilities — which today strongly influences my design decisions and fabric selection.

My studies took place during a natural transition period, when traditional craftsmanship intersected with the gradual emergence of new technologies. This allowed me to develop a balanced personal approach — respectful of craftsmanship, yet open to innovation.

Creation

During my university years, I moved to London, where I lived for eight years. There, I founded my first small fashion label, collaborated with an Australian fashion designer, and sold my work at Greenwich Market, within an environment of both local and international design and art. This experience taught me independence, the practical operation of a fashion brand, and direct communication with customers.

After returning to Slovakia, I focused on custom bridal and evening wear. I continued working during maternity leave — I am a mother of three — and it was precisely this made-to-measure work that gradually evolved into capsule thinking, and later into a collection composed of my most successful designs, originally created for individual women.

The collection became a brand.

LENKA KRIVA has been operating as an independent fashion label since 2023.

I create sophisticated minimalist design. Each original piece belongs naturally in a modern capsule wardrobe. Precise details, traditional tailoring techniques, and responsible material selection underline the luxurious character of my collection. Professionalism, quality, and sustainability are the result of years of experience and close collaboration with local tailors and specialists.

Every day, I hold in my hands unique pieces filled with human thought, touch, and care.

Discover my world, where capsule wardrobe principles and made-to-measure design form the foundation of a personal, timeless fashion story.

“Vigorous writing is concise. A sentence should contain no unnecessary words, a paragraph no unnecessary sentences—just as a drawing should have no unnecessary lines and a machine no unnecessary parts. This does not mean that the writer should make all sentences short, avoid all detail, and treat subjects only in outline, but that every word tell.”
